Merge replication between sql server 2008 and 2000 -


good day guys, have 1 issue i'm trying organise merge replication between 2 servers 2000 , 2008. tried 2 variants:

first: made publication @ sql server 2000 , when tried made subscription @ 2008 received following message: "for merge publications, version of subscriber must not exceed version of publisher".

second one: made publication @ sql server 2008 , when tried made subscription @ 2000 received following message: "to connect server must use sql server management studio or sql server management objects"

so give me advice how solve issue ?

as stated in using multiple versions of sql server in replication topology:

for merge replication, subscriber merge publication can version no later publisher version.

this means must make sql server 2008 instance publisher , sql server 2000 instance subscriber. use sql server 2008 management studio configure topology.
