asp.net mvc 3 - Issue related to ReturnUrl concept in mvc3 -


i have developed website in mvc3 uses returnurl concept. in have implemented authorization such when user not logged in , tried access authorized page, user redirected login page.

for example, if have url http://mydemosite.com/user/list, , user accessing link not logged in. user redirected login page return url http://mydemosite.com/account/login/?returnurl=%2fuser%2flist. when user logs in using valid credentials, website redirected user/list page.

my question here if browse below url

http://mydemosite.com/device/list/?returnurl=%2fuser%2flist

it shows me 401 - unauthorize error. if change url

http://mydemosite.com/user/list/?returnurl=%2fuser%2flist

notice changed query parameter returnurl returnurl, after change redirected requested page after authentication complete.

could let me know why issue occurs?
