SQL Server Compact 4.0 and Sync Framework 2.1: Why the lack of support? -

i've spent year developing business desktop application client, , upgraded local database sql compact edition 4.0. i'm looking @ ways "replicate" data azure outside parties can use app access replicated site data, run reports, etc. reading i've done, appears sql ce 4.0 not support scenario, , microsoft recommends if developers want these sorts of things, stick old v3.5. uneasy feeling this. first of all, can't use v3.5 entity framework 5.0, microsoft recommend. in general, lack of support indicate sync framework not favored solution type of problem? i'm bit of novice, assume connected apps, and/or apps allow users work same data on phone on desktop, common programming problem--one warrant standard, up-to-date, supported set of technologies. so... missing? sync framework somehow obsolete or unfavored? or same true sql ce used desktop applications?

any feedback appreciated.

you can make sync farmewrork work sqlce 4.0, see junet blog. further developement of sqlce not planned, 4.0 supported ms in forseeable future. sql ce toolbox can started sync framework, has codegen features.
