Asio without Boost -

is asio still developed separate boost, or boost.asio version still being updated?

on asio website talk there being benefits both versions, , asio updated more boost is. however, latest dev release on site 1.5.3, released in march of 2011, whereas latest boost 1.53 release february 2013 includes asio 1.8.3, large number of changes since 1.5.3.

either asio website abandoned without notification in favor of boost-only updates, or has moved location haven't found. know definitively happened?

the reason ask i'm trying cut boost project, , boost.asio boost library i'm using. asio header-only library, boost.asio pulls in several other boost libraries (system, regex, date_time) otherwise unused.

i'd willing switch light-weight socket library, haven't found 1 asio yet (in terms of low dependencies , using native platform iocp/epoll methods).

i asked via e-mail non-boost version maintained , christopher kohlhoff, author, said maintains on github

https://github.com/chriskohlhoff/asio

looking @ today doesn't seem 1.8.3 there, or @ least it's not been labeled stopped maintaining repo.
