portforwarding - Port Forwarded; Port Check says port is open but unable to connect -


i have setup swann dvr surveillance system. able access web client @ 192.168.1.99:85 (static ip in internal lan). have port forwarded 85 packets 192.168.1.99. when access external ip eg xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:85 unable connect error.

i checked if port open in online tool , says port 85 open. here port forwarding page:

edit: have tried changing ports 89, 9001, 8080 , no luck..

ive figured out doing wrong friend. seems there called nat loopback (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/network_address_translation#nat_loopback) allows access public ip address within own network. routers have feature disabled default. , hence whenever try access ip address packets dropped , host unreachable icmp packet.

anyway use try enable nat reflection or nat loopback on router.

if dont have feature, can test system outside network , itll work fine. sorry not reporting answer sooner.
