c# - Asp.net 4.0 in iis 7.5 wont load page under ssl. "Internet explorer cannot display the webpage" -


we have developed online application our customers. application works without hitch in firefox, safari, chrome, ie9+ , mobile browsers. web page publicly available under ssl. through testing has become apparent page not load in ie8 (windows xp) case when using ssl (works fine in http). application developed using jquery asp.net 4.0 , runs on iis 7.5. error given "internet explorer cannot display webpage".

i @ complete loss having tried fix it? appreciated.
