i think relatively simple procedure (being total noob) can't seem figure out. there place admin dashboard add , edit templates or have use ftp client upload/edit templates directly? thanks.

you can edit theme wordpress editor can found under:

dashboard > appearance > editor

you have make sure files writeable before you'll see save button, can make files writeable via ftp.
