Trying to create a topology for SLP inspection -


i trying create topology consists of client,server , gateway in middle in order inspect slp traffic. using 2 ubunto machines , machine in middle representing firewall(which have wireshark on). have downloaded openslp , installed on both machines, issued findsrvs request ssh daemon using slptool , recorded traffic. when put 2 computers(client , server) without gateway in middle, able send , receive slp traffic , indeed finding ssh daemon, when add gateway in middle, packets doesn't seem through gateway. tried understand why happening,till no success. can think of reason that, maybe need change routing? multicast? thanks

slp uses broadcast packets don't traverse through gateway
