timezone - Accessing tz database through PHP -


i understand php's timezone functionality makes use of olson tz database, , wondering whether there way access database information myself more directly, in order more accurate information through use of longitudes , latitudes.

i guess, alternatively, if there php libraries can provide me timezone when given coordinates, too. tried google's api this, limited , rejected every request made it.

the coordinates in tzdb in zone.tab, , single latitude/longitude each exemplar city. that's displaying points on map, isn't enough information let resolve arbitrary lat/lon time zone.

if you're having issues google's apis, can try post specific issues or contact support. there other providers well, or can build own geospatial database resolve them locally.
