oracle11g - Oracle ALL_TABLES.LOGGING clarification -

i queried user_tables view of sys.all_tables , saw column called logging set either yes or no. oracle 11g database. not familiar specifics of oracle databases.

i want find out parameter does. kind of logging talking about? interested in finding out if there connection between parameter , created , last_modified fields available in oracle based applications.

also logging parameter enable logging of data changes (insert, update, delete) including old , new values of fields changed?

appreciate folks!

sort of. documentation describes column thusly:

indicates whether or not changes table logged; null partitioned tables

the relates logging clause in create table statement:

specify whether creation of table , of indexes required because of constraints, partition, or lob storage characteristics logged in redo log file (logging) or not (nologging).

this separately documented, along lot more information. put indicates whether changes made table being logged can recovered in event of instance failure. not can reference changes; you'll have use triggers or materialized view that.
